Sheila Warren is Vice President of Alliances & General Counsel of TechSoup Global, a 501(c)(3) social enterprise that has facilitated USD ~$5B in technology donations and grants for over 100 donor partners and has created community-based technology platforms supporting ~600,000 registered NGOs in over 130 countries. In addition to sourcing and structuring strategic partnerships with leading nonprofits, government agencies, and corporations, Ms. Warren oversees the legal and compliance teams at TechSoup, NGOsource, and Caravan Studios, and leads the vetting and eligibility teams, which work to define and illuminate civil society organizations around the world.
Ms. Warren joined TechSoup to design, build, and launch NGOsource, and she co-chaired a team of foundations and attorneys who successfully lobbied the Treasury Department and IRS to change the regulations involving international grantmaking for the first time in 20 years. Ms. Warren has counseled hundreds of charitable organizations in the areas of tax and corporate law with Adler & Colvin; Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP; and in private practice, and she has authored several publications on tax-exempt organizations. She regularly speaks on philanthropy and grantmaking. Ms. Warren holds an A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
