Nina Ozlu Tunceli is chief counsel at Americans for the Arts and executive director of its Arts Action Fund and PAC. For 21 years, she has served as chief policy strategist for Americans for the Arts’ federal, state, and local government and public affairs work, grassroots advocacy campaigns, and national coalition-building efforts, mobilizing more than 250,000 citizen activists. Nina spearheaded the “Arts = Jobs” campaign that secured an additional $50 million for 7,000 arts jobs and arts infrastructure projects in the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act. She has produced 20 annual National Arts Advocacy Day conferences on Capitol Hill; the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; and the National Public Leadership in the Arts Awards, in partnership with the U. S. Conference of Mayors. Nina also serves on Independent Sector’s public policy committee. She holds a B.A. in French literature from The George Washington University and a J.D. from The University of Richmond School of Law.
