Dawn Lockhart is President and CEO of Family Foundations, the premier family-asset building non-profit organization in Northeast Florida. Founded in 1956, over 180,000 families have become strong and money-wise. This nationally accredited agency was recently recognized by The Urban Institute as a national leader in the field of foreclosure prevention.

For 30 years, Dawn has been a national and local leader in the field of behavioral economics, family asset building, consumer protection and financial education. A frequent media source, Dawn speaks annually at national forums on board governance, program and fund development and outcome-based performance models.

She is actively involved with local, state and national organizations focused on the economic stability of families and has been the recipient of multiple industry awards. She has served in numerous leadership roles on the National Foundation for Credit Counseling Board of Trustees and recently completed her tenure as the Chair of the Board where she led the national membership association through a new board governance model. Dawn also served as the President of the United Way Agency Directors Association where she led the 80 member association through a new strategic plan. She currently serves on the JaxChamber Board of Governors, the United Way of Florida Public Policy Council, the City of Jacksonville Community Wealth Building Commission and consults as a Community Coach for the Non Profit Center of North Florida.

In 2012, Dawn launched Wi$e Money Week, a week of activities and community events celebrating financial education. With the vision of starting a movement, Wi$e Money Week has already provided 36,250 hours of education to nearly 11,000 participants. Additionally, nearly 5,000 families have successfully achieved their goals of building fiscal, human and social assets. In 2013, she released the 1000 in 1000 Community Report, showcasing the results of a community collaborative to move 1000 people out of poverty every 1000 days. Dawn has showcased this model to national audiences, most recently including Neighborworks America and in partnership with The Shriver Report and the HBO documentary, Paycheck to Paycheck. Dawn and her family reside in Saint Johns, Florida.
