Beverly Haydel is director of Civic Leadership Initiatives for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation. She is overseeing development of The Water Campus, a 35-acre gathering place for scientists and engineers working on deltaic issues; managing a master plan for a Health District in Baton Rouge; and spearheading an effort to create a treatment center for people with mental illnesses and substance abuse problems. Before joining the Foundation, Beverly served as Special Counsel for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, was a lead attorney for the Mitt Romney campaign for president, spent several years at a top Washington, D.C. law firm, and worked in investment banking for Goldman Sachs. Her undergraduate degree in Economics is from Harvard, and she earned a law degree from Stanford Law School. As a college basketball player at Harvard, Beverly sank seven three-pointers against Ivy-league rival Brown and hit nearly half her attempts from beyond the arc in her senior year.
