Gender Inequity in the Charitable Sector

8:30 AM – 10:00 AM

The number 74 is a critical one for women in the charitable sector. According to the White House Project, women comprise 74% of the nonprofit workforce – but they only fill 10% of upper management positions.

What is more, this inequity doesn’t just exist in leadership positions. According to the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management, women in the charitable sector earn an average 74 cents for every dollar earned by men. This lively discussion will explore why these inequities exist, what they mean for the sector, and what we can do to improve the situation.
