Overhead is a necessary function of all organizations. Yet, in recent years, overhead has transitioned from an accounting tool to a proxy measure of a nonprofit’s quality. The public perception is that lower overhead always is better.
Hear from experts about how this type of “nonprofit starvation cycle” is depriving charities of the resources and flexibility they need to best serve their communities. Then, let’s put our heads together and come up with a plan to confront the misperception policymakers, donors, grant-makers, and media have about the role of overhead in a nonprofit organizations.
